About Us

Ed-Ball is more than just a company; it’s a tribute to my late older brother, Edward, who passed away at the age of 37. Edward, aka ”Ed”, “Eddo” or most famously, “King Eddo”, was the epitome of a big brother – teaching me resilience, love, and the importance of pushing forward. His guidance and wisdom, encapsulated in tough but needed phrases like “Don’t be sorry, be better” and “Good athletes know their limits. Great athletes have no limits,” have shaped who I am today.

In honor of Edward’s legacy, I founded Ed-Ball to build a community that embodies the values an older brother can teach: Respect, Work, and Growth. Our specially designed baseball, which helps you self-correct your throw and reduce shoulder injuries, represents these values. It encourages you to respect your body and arm, put in the work to learn proper technique, and achieve growth by developing a stronger throw, much like striving to catch up to an older brother. Through Ed-Ball, we aim to create a supportive network where individuals can thrive, both on and off the field.

Having injured my shoulder in my junior year of high school, preventing me from playing what would have been my fourth year on varsity, I know firsthand the impact of shoulder injuries and poor throwing mechanics. Current baseballs on the market show you how to grip a fastball, change-up, or curveball, but none teach proper throwing mechanics. Ed-Ball helps you “learn how to throw” with good mechanics, addressing this critical gap and promoting healthier play.

At Ed-Ball, we believe in the power of play and the joy of family time spent outdoors. Our mission is to get families outside, throwing around a ball, making memories, and living life through motion – a fundamental pillar in life. By focusing on proper mechanics and injury prevention, we aim to ensure that everyone, from young children to seasoned athletes, can enjoy the game safely and effectively. Let’s get outside, throw a ball, and live through motion together.

Respect

At Ed-Ball, respect is the cornerstone of our community. It means valuing and honoring every aspect of our lives, from God to ourselves, our teammates, the sport, and the broader community. By respecting God, ourselves, our families, and everyone around us, we create a positive and nurturing environment. Community members embody this value by:

  • Showing sportsmanship on and off the field.
  • Encouraging and supporting fellow players.
  • Adhering to the rules of the game and the community.
  • Acknowledging the efforts of others and appreciating their contributions.

Work

Work represents the relentless effort and dedication required to achieve. Inspired by Edward’s tough but needed lessons, such as “Don’t be sorry, be better” and “Good athletes know their limits. Great athletes have no limits,” we believe that nothing worth having comes without hard work. By putting in the work, we achieve our goals and inspire those around us to do the same. Community members put in the work by:

  • Having a commitment to continuous improvement, both in sport and personal development.
  • Embracing challenges and putting in the effort to overcome them.
  • Understanding that success is earned through perseverance and determination.
  • Encouraging a strong work ethic within the community, setting an example for others.

Growth

Growth is an ongoing journey, both athletically and personally. At Ed-Ball, we believe in never settling and always striving for improvement. Even if skill advancement is slow, character growth is constant. Growth is about continuously seeking ways to enhance our abilities and character, ensuring we never stop evolving.  Our community members embrace growth by:

  • Taking every opportunity as a chance to learn and improve.
  • Measuring progress and celebrating small victories.
  • Maintaining a growth mindset, understanding that failures are stepping stones to success.
  • Encouraging others to push their boundaries and achieve their full potential.

Play with Principles at Their Core

Ed-Ball Players are the heart of our community. They strive to improve and grow while embodying our core values in their athletic journey.

  • Growth: Continuously work on improving skills and understanding of the game. Embrace challenges and learn from experiences, both victories and setbacks on and off the field.
  • Respect: Demonstrate sportsmanship and integrity by respecting your teammates, coaches, opponents, and the game. Above all, honor God, yourself, your family, and your community.
  • Work: Commit to training and playing with dedication and effort, understanding that success is earned through hard work.

Motivate, Teach and Model

Ed-Ball Coaches are the backbone of our community. They inspire and guide players by exemplifying our core principles.

  • Motivate: Encourage players to push their limits and achieve their best.
  • Teach: Provide players with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, both on and off the field.
  • Model: Demonstrate the principles of Ed-Ball in every aspect of life, serving as a role model for players and the broader community.
  • Support: Assist players and coaches in various ways, from logistical help to moral support.
  • Engage: Be an active part of the community, participating in events and fostering a positive environment.
  • Encourage: Uplift and motivate players and coaches, celebrating their efforts and achievements.
  • Respect: Show respect and appreciation for the contributions of all community members, understanding that every role is essential to our collective success.

Becoming a part of Ed-Ball means committing to a culture of respect, hard work, and continuous growth. Whether you choose to motivate as a coach, strive as a player, or support as a crew member, you are crucial to our mission. From now until July 31st, we’re focused on building our community and gauging interest to effectively organize camps, certifications, and community events. Your participation will help us shape the future of Ed-Ball. Join us and be a part of something extraordinary!
